Mary Anna collaborates frequently with estate planning and probate attorneys, as well as trust companies and bank trust departments in Texas and throughout the United States whose clients have inherited oil, gas and mineral interests located in Texas. She represents the executors or administrators of estates and the trustees of trusts to ensure that mineral and royalty distributions out of estates and trusts are handled properly.
After drafting and recording the necessary mineral distribution deeds or conveyances, Mary Anna completes the ownership transfer process directly with the current oil and gas operators and the county appraisal districts to help prevent future complications and ensure that all the “i”s are dotted and the “t”s are crossed. She also assists probate attorneys in preparing proper legal descriptions of mineral interests to be filed as part of estate inventories. When clients are unsure of what minerals they have inherited, Mary Anna’s past experience as a landman and title examiner also allows her to help them confirm their specific mineral ownership.
Mary Anna also advises executors and trustees on oil and gas leases, title issues, underpayment of royalties and many other related matters.
