Sally Metcalfe

Experience

She began her legal career as a trial lawyer at the law firm Whitehurst, Harkness, Ozmun & Brees, P.C., in Austin, where she became a partner and worked for 15 years. She then became a founding partner of Austin personal injury firm, Evans Edwards, L.L.P.

Her work has included over 30 years of extensive experience with cases involving product liability, insurance bad faith, construction defect, car wrecks and medical negligence. Her work has been a constant reminder that our lives can be completely devastated by the carelessness of others, and that you often have to fight for the justice that you deserve. Sally knows how difficult it can be to deal with a sudden tragedy, and enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of her clients.

Education

Sally was born in Dallas and was raised in Arlington, Texas. She attended Texas A&M University, where she received her BBA in Finance in 1988. Following graduation, she moved to Houston and worked as a Treasury Analyst for Tenneco Gas. After two years with Tenneco, she began her legal studies at The University of Texas School of Law. She served as a Teaching Quizmaster and was elected a member of The Order of Barristers while in law school.

Activities

Sally has a long-standing commitment to serving both her community and the legal profession. She has held numerous leadership positions in prominent legal organizations, including serving as President of the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association and Vice President of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, where she continues to serve on the Board of Directors. She is also an officer of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a prestigious, invitation-only national organization of accomplished civil trial lawyers and judges dedicated to preserving the right to trial by jury and promoting professionalism and civility in the legal profession.

Beyond her professional leadership, Sally is committed to expanding access to justice, having served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Legal Services Center, an organization dedicated to providing legal assistance to underserved Texans.
