As the name implies, The Modern K9 utilizes modern training techniques and superior genetics to deliver a higher quality patrol dog than the majority of vendors globally. We have taken years selecting the best dogs for our breeding program, and we pride ourselves on not having hundreds of dogs on hand for a department to select at will. We find out the direct needs of each department, and if we don’t have one in stock, we will hand-select the perfect dog for the client. Whether your department is searching for a single-purpose detection dog or a dual-purpose patrol dog, we can meet your needs. Each dog undergoes countless hours of training prior to the beginning of the 6-week basic handler course. In that course, the handler will receive training on all aspects of patrol and detection handling. By the conclusion of the program, the handler and canine will have developed into a cohesive team and will be trained to a standard that prepares them to complete certification under a USPCA evaluator.
