We are a family owned and operated dog training business located in central Maryland. We specialize in training companion pet dogs as well as sport dogs and police k9s.

The Modern K9 was founded in 2018 and since then we have helped hundreds of dogs and puppies through our specialized, board and train programs as well as private lessons. Our expert training programs are custom tailored to your dogs needs. Whether your dog is dealing with reactivity, separation anxiety, or just a young rambunctious dog who needs a little structure, we have a program for you. Any age or breed, on leash or off, we can help!

Your dog will stay in our home with our family. We do not utilize kennel buildings or leave your dogs at a facility. This allows us much more time to work with your dog because we are not limited to an 8 hour workday at which point the trainer goes home until the next morning. Your dog will be with us night and day. We are fully insured and practice stringent safety measures. We pride ourselves in not having dog fights, disease or accidents. Your dog is our number one priority.
