Meet Corey Rosier

Owner of The Modern K9

Founded in 2018, The Modern K9 was built on a simple principle: to facilitate communication between dog and owner in an effective and ethical manner. At the center of that mission is Corey Rosier, whose diverse background and relentless pursuit of knowledge have earned him a reputation for producing real, lasting results for both working dogs and family companions.

Corey’s experience spans far beyond the typical pet training environment. He has worked extensively with law enforcement and military working dog teams as a K9 instructor for a major government contractor, helping handlers develop the skills necessary to operate at the highest professional standards. During that time, Corey also handled an explosive detection K9 named Rudy, gaining firsthand experience in the discipline, precision, and accountability required in high-stakes operational work. That level of professionalism carries directly into his work with pet dogs.

Corey is known for his ability to rehabilitate challenging cases, particularly reactive and aggressive dogs that many trainers turn away. Through years of hands-on experience and continued study in learning theory and canine behavior, he has developed a structured curriculum within The Modern K9’s Board and Train program designed to rebuild communication between dog and owner while addressing the root causes of behavioral issues.

Education is a constant priority for Corey. The field of dog training continues to evolve, and he remains committed to refining his approach through ongoing study, mentorship, and practical application. This dedication ensures that the methods used at The Modern K9 reflect both proven principles and modern behavioral science.

Beyond the training field, Corey is also an accomplished competitor in the demanding international sport of French Ring. Traveling across the country, he competes at a high level with one of his 4 Belgian Malinois, Rodan. The sport requires exceptional obedience, control, courage, and teamwork between handler and dog, skills that translate directly into Corey’s training philosophy. Through his involvement in dog sports, he has also helped numerous competitors develop and title their own dogs, further contributing to the working dog community.

Since its founding, The Modern K9 has built its reputation on trust. Owners entrust Corey with their dogs not only to improve behavior, but to create lasting change that improves life for both dog and family. Safety remains the foundation of every program. Every training plan is designed with the well-being of the dog, the owner, and the public in mind.

Through a combination of real-world working dog experience, high-level sport competition, and a deep commitment to behavioral science, Corey and The Modern K9 continue to provide life-changing training for dogs and the people who love them.
