Blinds Unlimited was founded in 1984 by Tony and Donna Smith as an extension of their family business, Schmitt’s Interiors. While helping customers with drapery, flooring and home interiors, they realized many people didn’t know they could also purchase custom blinds and shades through Schmitt’s. To better showcase their window treatment expertise, they opened Blinds Unlimited in the garage of their McSherrystown home, creating a dedicated destination for custom blinds, shades, shutters, and more. For decades, this neighborhood shop served clients in Hanover and McSherrystown. If you drive down Main Street today, you’ll notice the sign is still there!
